Hi, I'm Katie!
For years I've felt unsure of my direction, but two things have always remained constant: my love of travel and photography. And maybe just as important—I've never loved being in front of the camera.
If being photographed makes you feel awkward, stiff, or like you suddenly forgot how to exist as a human... I get it. I feel the same way.
That's exactly why I photograph the way I do. I don't pose couples in staged positions, or ask for forced smiles. I work gently and unobtrusively; often in the distance, letting moments happen instead of manufacturing them. My goal is to make you forget I'm even there, so what's captured feels real.
I'm drawn to moody light, melancholic beauty and the overwhelming feeling of being born in the wrong era. Victorian romance, soft darkness, quiet emotion; those are the spaces I feel most at home in, and where my work naturally lives.
